student rabbi Lena sclove, m.div.
Lena Sclove is a mystic, a meditator, and a lover of interweaving song, study, and silence. Lena is a Senior Rabbinical Student in the ALEPH Ordination Program, set to receive Rabbinic Smicha (Ordination) in January 2027. She lives on traditional Nipmuc lands of Western Massachusetts, and is a chaplain, writer, organizer, and embodied prayer leader, living at the intersection of mysticism, meditation, multifaith, and justice work. Lena graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2021, where she focused in Chaplaincy and Jewish Studies. She most recently worked as a Full-Time Hospice Chaplain/Spiritual Counselor for Central Coast Hospice of Santa Barbara. Lena has trained as a Chaplain through CPE, interned as a Psychiatric Hospital Chaplain, and was a Fellow with the Cal Turner Program for Moral Leadership and a Member of Vanderbilt’s LGBTQ+ Faith and Policy Cohort. She is an alum of the Davvenen Leadership Training Institute and the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Yesod Jewish Mindfulness program. She has a BA in Ethnic Studies, is a former NYC tenant organizer, an alum of Romemu Yeshiva, and a co-founder of Nashville Jews for Justice. Lena grew up in a swirl of Jewish, Hindu, and Buddhist traditions, and feels deep gratitude to Jewish Renewal for nurturing her longings to deepen in her Jewish path. Lena loves to sing her heart out, contemplate the meaning of life, and spend time outdoors with her spouse Mahip and their baby and toddler.
